Register a Domain Name

Your domain name is the address of your website on the internet. Before you register a domain name for your site you must check the domain availability. Often the domain you want has already been registered by someone else. If this happens to you try a different extension, like .com .org .net .co.za You can also use hyphens in between words but I don't recommend that because it makes the name difficult to remember. Your domain name is long term and very important on the net so be sure to choose wisely. The Domain Name Handbook has a lot to say on the matter and costs only $1.19 (R10) I definitely consider it a good investment.

Hosting companies like HostGator and Hub Host will be able to register a domain name for you.

Name Cheap is a very good domain registrar if you want to buy your domain seperatetly from your hosting and as the name implies they have very good prices.
